Standard Software (pre-set filter brackets)
HL-5000-1. All features, without GM80 ground mic.
HL-5000-2. Same as the HL5000-1, but includes the GM80 ground mic. Wind protected.
Professional Software (More selection options for the digital filters)
HL5000-3. No Ground Mic
HL5000-4. With the GM80 wind protected ground microphone.
Software upgrades (from STANDARD, to PROFESSIONAL), are done at the factory for $385.00, plus S&H. What this means is that you can start with one of the models with the STANDARD software, and, later you can upgrade.
All HL5000 models now include high quality, David Clark headphones, and the PAM-U40, industry leading piezo sensor/accerometer. (All things being equal, most people purchase the HL5000-2, as the "standard" software (firmware) is still very much superior to other brands of leak detectors. But, if you want that extra edge, buy the PROFESSIONAL series. Remember, you can always upgrade later. (We use the 5000-4.)
